Bexley picnic beings the generations together

A special picnic that brought several generations together spanning 100 years took place at Lesnes Abbey last Saturday [7th July].

The picnic was organised by Eleanor Care’s Bexley branch manager Gill Excell and her team, for her service users and their families. Special guests included several service users as well as carers and their families.

She was helped by several other carers, including all office staff. A special ambulance was provided by Eleanor’s Patient Transport Services, to ensure service users were driven in comfort to and from the venue.

Entertainment came in the form of 100-year-old Ernie Whitcomb, who led the singalong and knew all the words to old songs including Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner, Doing the Lambeth Walk and We’ll meet again.

Gill Excell said ‘It was lovely to see everyone mix so well together. Although it was a really hot day everyone really enjoyed themselves and some of the service users are already asking when the Christmas event will be held.’
