The world’s biggest coffee morning in aid of Macmillan cancer support took place on Friday 28 September and Julia Woodrow (floor 2, Lewisham branch) invited volunteers to bake cakes to sell in aid of cancer research.
Julia, a breast cancer survivor herself, received help from Macmillan while undergoing treatment for breast cancer, as well as afterwards, She found the support invaluable and credits it with helping to aid her recovery, alongside the treatment.
She was delighted by the response from her Lewisham and Greenwich colleagues as well as head office and had this to say afterwards: ’I want to say a huge thank you to all of you who contributed to the Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 28th September.
We raised a total of £175, which was doubled by our CEO Marc, so I had the great pleasure of banking a total of £350. That’s fantastic – you all did me proud!’
