Dementia Care in the Domiciliary Setting
This is the first part of our three-part series of dementia training. This course focuses on developing dementia care skills and employing ways in which care workers can provide care for people suffering from dementia.
Topics that will be covered in this dementia training include:
- improving understanding of the communication difficulties that can be experienced, while also considering how feelings can be expressed through behaviour
- developing good verbal and non-verbal communication skills in care workers and encourage them to consider the factors that can further improve effectiveness
- exploring ways in which people with dementia can be engaged in activities to improve their quality of life while also keeping them safe
- encouraging the use of person-centred skills.
