Hartley House Care Home is registered for 57 residents, with 51 single and 3 companion bedrooms to accommodate married couples or residents who wish to live together by choice. All the rooms are individually furnished and residents are welcome to bring in their own furniture and prized possessions.  22 rooms have en-suite showers and/or w.c.’s. The home is split into four approximately equal wings – Hardy, Camden, Sackville and Harris. This structure allows for individual care and attention to be given in small groups. There are separate lounges and dining rooms in each wing, and each has their own kitchenette. Food is delivered from the central kitchen and served in each wing.

We are registered with the Care Quality Commission (“CQC”) to provide personal care and accommodation, and will support all persons who because of physical or mental incapacities require help with daily living.

We continue to value each and every individual who comes to live at Hartley House. We welcome applications from people from all walks of life and with many different needs, who enjoy the opportunity to share and celebrate the richness and diversity of their experience. All residents are assured that they will be treated with respect and dignity according to their individual needs and wishes.

Hartley House has a full program of activities.  Our programs are tailored to individual needs and capabilities, combined with group activities that that include as many residents as possible. Working together with staff the well being coordinators aim to offer every resident meaningful interaction.  The level of interaction varies according to their needs and abilities.

QUALITY CARE

Every resident is in the home because they need some level of care. Through regularly updated assessments we ensure that each individuals' care needs are being met with a combination assisted care and independent tasks that the resident can perform. Maintaining independence is a key strategy. Residents are encouraged to stay mobile, to participate socially and to help themselves whenever possible. Medications pay a key part in the overall care strategy. Working with local GPs we review medications on a regular basis, trying to ensure the lowest possible medical input while still meeting medical needs.
