My mother-in-law has been a resident at Lavenders since February 2024, is well settled and very happy indeed. Both my parents have now joined her and we cannot rate Lavenders highly enough. It is superbly well run, with kind, attentive and experienced staff, which is, in our experience, not easy to find. The meals provided are delicious, of extremely high quality and much enjoyed by our three nonagenarian parents. High praise to the chef(s). We feel so very fortunate to have Lavenders close by and would recommend it highly to anyone considering a care home for their loved ones. Thank you Lavenders, for your wonderful managerial staff and all the amazing team that make this home an exceptionally happy place.

Where do I start. The first time I walked through the door to look around for Mum. I knew it was the right place for her and she would be very happy here. It certainly lives up to what I originally thought. The care team are excellent. The home is so comfortable and friendly. Gardens gorgeous. Activities great. Food is amazing big portions though. Mum loves the soup and sandwiches in the evening. Her room looks on the entrance and she loves seeing everyone come in and out. Perfect for her as at her bungalow she never saw people walk past. Mum loves it and we are delighted that Mum is happy and content making the rest of her life enjoyable and comfortable. We can come and see her whenever we want. Perfect.

Mum has been at Lavenders since February this year and we have been very pleased with the home – with the facilities, the care and all of the staff that we have met. Communication is good, with the office and with the senior carers on shift and we are kept well-informed when anything happens. The staff have always been friendly, polite and helpful and are very patient with Mum. There are plenty of activities on offer, though Mum doesn’t go to that many of them despite encouragement; she is also encouraged to sit out in the lounge which is bright and airy with a nice view of the grounds and she seems to do that quite often. I would recommend anyone with a friend or relative needing care to have a look at Lavenders.

Lavenders is a 5 star facility in areas, we would not put any member of our family anywhere else now or in the future, in fact, I would like to go here myself when the time comes. From the moment you walk in the door for the first time, you know your loved one is in a safe and caring environment and confirm as a family we made the right choice with Lavenders.

My father has now been a resident at Lavenders for a year. Overall he is very well cared for and any needs are addressed promptly. Initially, it was difficult for him to adjust to losing his independence but with the excellent care and support given by the staff, he has now settled in. He enjoys the excellent food which is prepared on-site and some of the organised weekday activities. It has been good to witness the extra activities & treats arranged during the year according to the current news and events. Thank you and well done to all the staff for keeping so professional and cheerful through recent difficult times.

The Road Less Travelled – Charting A Visionary Path Towards Success

Despite a successful stint as one of the youngest finance directors in London, specialising in mergers and acquisitions for a prominent advertising company, Marc found his professional success to be hollow. Driven by a desire to serve the community, he left the lucrative world of finance to establish an accountancy practice and business consultancy in Lewisham. His mission was clear: guide local start-ups and small businesses toward financial transparency and profitability.

As Marc’s consultancy flourished, he received a crucial call from Eleanor in 2005, who was struggling to keep her nursing agency afloat after 26 years. Marc took on the challenge, initiating a leap of faith that marked the beginning of a transformative journey. Today, the Eleanor Healthcare Group stands as a model business in the care sector, with over 1500 dedicated members, fluent in 112 languages, supporting over 3000 clients. The senior staff, with a combined experience of over 100 years in health and social care, has been instrumental in guiding and participating in the organisation’s remarkable growth.

Marc draws inspiration from his team of staff care workers and frontline keyworkers, acknowledging their role in preserving the life and dignity of the most vulnerable in the community. He emphasises that Eleanor is an organization with people at its core, having created a paradigm shift in the care sector with the driving principle that social care is about people, not processes. In 2009, Marc introduced the concept of person-centric care, responding to a request from Richmond Council. Eleanor Healthcare Group led the transformation, offering tailor-made services and pioneering an outcomes-based approach in collaboration with local authorities. The organisation then took a leading role in preventive care, integrating health and social care services and introducing a novel caring model to Lewisham Council based on the Buurtzorg model.

Despite numerous achievements, Marc sees success as just the beginning. The Eleanor family remains ready to take another leap of faith, with trust in people above processes. In the face of mounting challenges to health and social care systems, Marc has been steering Eleanor to the forefront of much-needed innovation within the UK and globally. Eleanor Healthcare Group takes pride in its identity, never compromising integrity and always preserving its true essence. The commitment to taking the road less travelled is evident as it approaches the next fork in the future of healthcare, promising to continue breaking new ground and redefine possibilities.
